History of Jacket Bomber
Its creator, Leslie Lorey Irvin, patented the design of the first bomber jacket in 1926 in order to protect and keep aviators warm at high altitudes and at very low temperatures. The popularity of the bomber jacket was increasing and its wearers were also identified with war heroes, so its use gradually spread to the civilian sphere in a natural way. The first models of bomber jackets were made with leather on the outside and shearling on the inside, but these materials were gradually replaced by more modern and lighter ones until reaching the current nylon and polyester.
